Love Song for Lite Friday

Songs bounce around in my head like pin-balls in a pin-ball machine. Ask anyone who knows me.  I can come up with a song, on the spot, to describe just about any situation. Coming from Nashville, I think it’s a rule or something.

Case in point:  Love Song.  It’s a great song and it’s, well you guessed it, a love song.

What’s interesting about this song is that I’ve been singing this ballad for the last few weeks. I’ve given it soulful inflections and just the right amount of breathlessness at just the right moments. Then, bam, I heard another rendition of the song that blew me away.

Check it out:

Adele’s version:  (the version I’ve been singing)

311 Version:

Here we have two different versions  of exactly the same song that conjures up very different feelings.   Sometimes, I guess it’s  really not what you say, but how you say it.

Happy Friday Everyone!
